Frequently Asked Questions

When I try to install Personal or Professional Numerologist, the Installation Programs aborts, and the program is not installed. How can I install these programs?

This can happen when another program, running in the background, interferes with the installation process. The easiest way to install the program when this happens is to start Windows in Safe Mode, and then run the Installation Program again. Safe Mode is a mode in which Windows loads only the bare minimum services and applications to start up. This will ensure no other application or service is running that may interfere with your installation. This time it should install correctly. To start Windows in Safe Mode:

Windows 10 & 11
  1. See this Microsoft article for more information and instructions on how to do this for Windows 10 and 11:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234

  2. Under the Windows 10 heading, click on the "From Settings" or "From the sign-in screen" box for detailed instructions.

Windows 8.1
  1. Press the Win+R key combination, type msconfig in the Run box and then click the OK button.
  2. Click the Boot tab in the System Configuration dialog box that appears, and click the Safe Boot check box.
  3. Under the Boot options, also click Network.
  4. Now, click the OK button to restart Windows. You PC will start in Safe Mode automatically.
  5. Once Windows restarts, download and install Personal or Professional Numerologist from our website again (if you are using Wi-Fi, you may have to reconnect). This time the Installation Program should complete.
  6. Open msconfig again and uncheck the Safe Boot option, then click the OK button.
  7. Restart Windows to return to Windows' normal mode.

Windows 7, Vista and XP
  1. Restart Windows, and just before the Windows splash screen appears, press the F8 Function Key to enter Advanced Boot Options (you may have to press the F8 Key several times before the system will recognize it).
  2. Once the Advanced Boot Options menu appears, select Safe Mode with Networking and then start Windows.
  3. Download and install Personal or Professional Numerologist from our website again. This time the Installation Program should complete.
  4. Once the program is installed, restart Windows to return to Windows' normal mode.

I just purchased new Activation Codes from your website. When I enter the codes, I get the error message, "Sorry, not a valid Activation Code. Please re-enter." How do I enter these codes?

First, recheck that you have entered the Activation Code(s) correctly. If you still get this error message, then check the program version by clicking on the Help menu and About Professional Numerologist (or About Personal Numerologist). If you have version 4, then you must download version 5. Once this new version is installed, click on the Help menu, Activate Reports and Chart and Activate Reports/Chart. Now, click on the checkbox, "Unlock by entering old Keys and Activation Codes (for reinstalls only)" and enter both the Keys and Activation Codes that you received.

I reformatted (or replaced) my hard disk drive and reinstalled Personal/Professional Numerologist. When I enter the old Activation Codes, I get a message that says the codes are not valid. How do I activate the modules I previously purchased?

Each time you install Personal/Professional Numerologist onto a clean hard disk, it creates a unique set of Keys that will be different than the ones you used to purchase your original Activation Codes. Use one of these two methods to reenter the original Keys and Activation Codes.

Method 1
This method requires Version 4.2.1 or later, or Version 5 of Personal or Professional Numerologist. To see what version you have, start the program and click on the Help menu, About (Program Name). The version number is shown in the dialog box that appears. If you have a version earlier than 4.2.1, you can Update Now to Version 4.2.3.

Once you have the correct version of Personal/Professional Numerologist installed, start the program and click on the Help menu, Activate Reports and Chart and then Activate Reports/Chart. Click on the box, "Unlock by entering old Keys and Activation Codes (for reinstalls only)", and make sure it is checked. Now you can enter the original Keys and Activation Codes into each of the appropriate fields. Once you have entered the Key and Activation Code for a module, click on the Activate button to enable that module. Repeat this for each module you have purchased.

Method 2
This method works for all versions of Personal and Professional Numerologist. If you previously saved the Keys and Activation Codes to removable media, then insert the CD, DVD or USB memory device that you created earlier into the appropriate drive and then click on the Help menu, Activate Reports and Chart and then Restore Keys/Activation Codes. Enter the drive letter for your removable media and click on OK. The original Keys and Activation Codes will be copied to your system, allowing you to run Personal/Professional Numerologist without having to manually reenter the Keys and Activation Codes.

If you did not previously save the Keys and Activation Codes, but the program is running on another computer you own, you can create the necessary removable media now. Start the program on this other system, click on the Help menu, Activate Reports and Charts and then Save Keys/Activation Codes. Enter the drive letter A if saving to a floppy or drive letter C if saving to a CD-R or DVD. Then click on OK. When saving to drive C, the file C:\Pernum Keys.dat (for Personal Numerologist) or C:\Pnum Keys.dat (for Professional Numerologist) will be saved to the root folder. Use your CD/DVD Burning software to burn this file to the root folder of a blank CD-R or DVD. You can also save the Keys and Activation Codes to a USB memory device.

Otherwise, you will need to email us the new Key(s) for the module(s) you purchased, along with your Invoice # and the name you purchased under so we can confirm your order. The Keys are found by starting the program, and then clicking on the Help menu and Ordering Information. The Keys are listed to the right of the module names and can be copied and pasted into an email message. We will then email you back the new Activation Code(s).

How do I install Personal/Professional Numerologist on another computer that I own?

Personal/Professional Numerologist can be installed on multiple computers that you own, so long as only one copy of the program is run at a time. For example, when you are home, you may want to work from your desktop system, but when you travel, you want to be able to use Personal/Professional Numerologist from your laptop. Just install the program on the second system and then restore the Keys and Activation Codes as explained in the previous FAQ.

Important Note: the License Agreement included with Personal/Professional Numerologist allows you to run only one copy of the program at a time when it is installed on multiple computers that you own. If you want to run several copies simultaneously, you need to purchase a copy for each system.
